No soldiers in the scenery,
No thoughts of people now dead,
As they were fifty years ago,
Young and living in a live air,
Young and walking in the sunshine,
Bending in blue dresses to touch something,
Today the mind is not part of the weather.
Today the air is clear of everything.
It has no knowledge except of nothingness
And it flows over us without meanings,
As if none of us had ever been here before
And are not now: in this shallow spectacle,
This invisible activity, this sense.
“A Clear Day and No Memories” by Wallace Stevens
So . . . now I am all caught up. Before you start worrying that someone on WP is stalking you, I will explain that I have been out of the loop for months and am now slowly catching up – one blog friend at a time. Tonight, I binge-read Smirk-Pretty and came out of the experience re-convinced that you are one of the best writers I have encountered on this platform. Looking forward to the next post already.
I love the one with the open window, with the breeze billowing the delicate curtain. 🙂 so pretty
It was amazing to see the original of that one up close. The detail just mesmerises the eye. Every tiny frayed wisp of lace, every blade of grass.
That’s awesome. 🙂

And may I add:
To love is to feel the warmth of the sun and the cooling wind.
